shopping in buncrana

We take the bus and our backpacks once a month to go to Lidl and Aldi to pick up items that we can't get locally.  It's about an hour bus ride from Moville.

  2. A trip by bus is very relaxing, and you don´t have to look for a parking spot.

  6. If that backdrop I see here is anything to go by I bet it's an enjoyable trip Bill!

  7. I've not heard of Lidl but we do have Aldi here. But I don't like the store as it does not carry my favorite brands. Nice photo...must have been sitting in front of the bus when you arrived! :)

  8. It certainly looks like you travel through some gorgeous country to get there. Those mountains in your photo are beautiful.

  9. You do have to make sure you're organized before such a trip!

  10. If Aldi's prices there are as good as those here, it is worth the trip. I recently discovered this chain and have a been using it quite a bit, yet most people think the inventory is sub-standard. I don't believe so plus I am fascinated by the clientele. One story I visit is always well-attented by Somali customers. Fascinating to see how high their baskets are stacked!

  11. Love the photo, Bill, thank you so much for sharing. An online friend of mine who is originally from Finland and lives in Ireland (has lived in Dunshauglin and Bray), and whom I have known via e-mails and Skype chats for 15 years now, talks to me a lot about Lidl stores! It sounds like a great store. :)

  14. Lidl did not last long here in the Stavanger area. Not sure if I have seen them anywhere else in Norway. I guess they gave up nearly 10 years ago.
Tesco is my favourite food shop in England, in Denmark it is Brugsen.... I wish I could jump on the bus and shop there as often as I wanted too.
